The new tenancy laws
Section 21 is gone. Getting your property back is no longer your choice.
Under the Renters' Rights reforms, assured shorthold tenancies become open-ended periodic tenancies and "no-fault" evictions are abolished. To regain possession you now need a specific legal ground, evidence and a court date — a process that can drag on for many months while a problem tenant stays put.
